The aviation viewing park at Manchester Airport over the years has been the venue for a number of fairs featuring various modes of transport, and of course aeroplanes. It has been the Society’s intention to participate for a number of years and this year we succeeded operating from a site within the viewing park close to the now stored Concorde “Alpha Charlie”.
Making contacts by HF through to some of the newer digital modes the event and the Society was publicised world wide.
So, what of the “XWB”? Well that was in recognition of the Airbus A350XWB aircraft which had not long been flying from the airport operated by Singapore Airlines.
